The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics/ transportation operations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent English, written and spoken

The responsibilities of our future colleague:

Intermodal Planning

  • Plan and execute intermodal transport (road–rail / multimodal) in line with service requirements and schedules.
  • Coordinate with carriers, rail operators, terminals, depots, and internal teams to ensure on-time shipments and seamless transfers between transport modes.
  • Communicate in a timely manner with vendors, drivers, terminal operators, and customers regarding schedules, changes, and special requirements.

Fleet and Asset Optimisation

  • Maximise the utilisation of intermodal equipment (trailers) and minimise idle time and demurrage charges.
  • Monitor and manage fleet capacity, reposition assets, and plan future movements based on demand forecasts.

Operational Performance

  • Monitor daily operations to identify and resolve issues (delays, bottlenecks, equipment shortages).
  • Report performance metrics and deviations to management and propose improvements where necessary.

Data Entry & Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate planning data, costs, and shipment status.
  • Create and issue transport orders to suppliers, ensuring timely communication and accurate data management within internal systems.
