The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics/ transportation operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Fluent English, written and spoken
The responsibilities of our future colleague:
Intermodal Planning
- Plan and execute intermodal transport (road–rail / multimodal) in line with service requirements and schedules.
- Coordinate with carriers, rail operators, terminals, depots, and internal teams to ensure on-time shipments and seamless transfers between transport modes.
- Communicate in a timely manner with vendors, drivers, terminal operators, and customers regarding schedules, changes, and special requirements.
Fleet and Asset Optimisation
- Maximise the utilisation of intermodal equipment (trailers) and minimise idle time and demurrage charges.
- Monitor and manage fleet capacity, reposition assets, and plan future movements based on demand forecasts.
Operational Performance
- Monitor daily operations to identify and resolve issues (delays, bottlenecks, equipment shortages).
- Report performance metrics and deviations to management and propose improvements where necessary.
Data Entry & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate planning data, costs, and shipment status.
- Create and issue transport orders to suppliers, ensuring timely communication and accurate data management within internal systems.
